National Tourist Board, Regional Tourist Board, Local Authority, Destination Management Organisation, Destination Marketing Organisation, Destination Conference Bureau, Area Tourism Partnership, National Park Authority, AONB Partnership, Higher Education Tourism Departments. These are all rounded up under the title Destination Management Organisations (DMO’s). Destinations are made up of the local businesses such as hotels, attractions, events, restaurants, rental offices, transport services and promoting these to the outside world is Destination Management. The Destination Management System (DMS) consolidates and distributes a comprehensive range of tourism products through a variety of channels and platforms, generally catering for a specific region, and supporting the activities of a destination management organisation within that region. t.
To ensure the DMO is marketing their destination to a maximum, CodeGen have developed Advanced Tourism Solutions (ATS). CodeGen’s “Destination Management System” under Advanced Tourism Solutions is an integration of three different systems to provide a single scalable and flexible solution for Destination Management. The three systems integrated are a Content Management System to manage and distribute content related to the promoted destination, a Product Management System to deliver tourism products and services to clients, and a Geographic Information System to manage and represent information geographically. All these systems are integrated via a common Core which is designed to define the destination hierarchy and the integration parameters needed for inter system information exchange.
