
Interview with Bharat Patel, Commerical Director, CodeGen. Discussion of their service/product TravelBox for global marketplace. It is an end to end solution mostly used by Tour Operators.
The dawn of year 2009, came with many greater challenges for the world as a whole, especially with the affects of the prevailing global financial crisis reaching out to the far corners of earth. Unfortunately as a result, the New Year turned out to be not a very happy one for most of the companies, after all. However, from such a standing point, as the CEO of Codegen, I am proud to wish all of you guys a Very Happy New Year and a bright future ahead with Codegen. As our strong global position in the travel industry shows, the brand we have created over the years together with our innovative business strategies that we have developed has allowed us to become a solid software partner with strong clientele that everyone wants to be a part of. So I assure you the future for Codegen is very strong and we are always determined and constantly looking in to avenues, to raise it to even greater heights.
The secret of success for Codegen has always been its very talented and dedicated team of professionals, who can standup to any challenge they are given and deliver the goods successfully. However, in these turbulent times, nothing should be taken for granted. So the only way for a company to survive is to stay competitive and be innovative all the time. Thus, as IT professionals you all have to stay ahead in your game, be innovative, improve the quality in whatever you do and be truly professionals in the field you are working on.
As I always say, Travelbox has been our bread and butter and we must use Travelbox as our launching pad to look in to other avenues where we can build and improve more products. Therefore, is it essential that we make Travelbox a very stable product as soon as possible so that our resources can be utilized into other avenues where we can generate more revenue. I’m sure the year 2009 will have more exiting times in store for us and a year with many more success stories for Codegen. Wish you all Happy times at Codegen
2008 passes and 2009 is upon us. Again, 2008 has been another outstanding year for Codegen. We have continued to progress in all areas of operations.
Our sales and marketing efforts have “borne fruit” and all persistence continues to “pay off” with us targeting, and once again signing major players in the travel industry. Our products go from strength to strength, as our development teams’ perseverance and innovations continue to place us as one of the leaders in the industry.
Our long awaited move finally took place, and we now proudly sit in truly spacious office environment and all conveniently located in central Colombo to accommodate our expanding teams.We have continued to build our expertise and experience in both our London and Colombo offices to continue our growth, and to meet the high expectations of not only our clients but we have placed upon ourselves to be one of the best specialists software houses in the global market place.
So what does 2009 hold for us?
As they say the “world is our oyster” it will be what we make out of it. Times may be harder and getting decisions for companies to move forward with projects may take longer. BUT we will continue to innovate, we will continue to build a stronger work ethic, and we will continue to be persistent in capturing branded organizations and expand our global “foot print”.
We are very, very confident that 2009 will be another landmark year for Codegen, but always remember the saying “ there is no gain without pain”. So our goal should be to make our customer happy who in turn will get us new customers and keep us happy! The directors would like to Thank Everyone for their support and effort during 2008.
Year 2008 has been another successful year for CG as we have been able to reach our milestones and maintain a steady and stable growth. We have expanded our global presence drastically with a strong client base and also internally we have improved the infrastructure facilities and strengthen the work force.
The coming year is going to be a tough period for most of the companies around the world with the global economic crisis. For CG this is going to rather than a threat as we are well placed in the market and quick enough to implement strategies to gain the best in the changing environment. However, in order to gain the maximum return in this environment we have to be very competitive and proactive. Therefore it is important to focus on quality, productivity and effectiveness in addition to innovation and creativity. I am confident that we could have a leap frog growth in the coming year with your support.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated and talented work force. We know many of you have devoted long hours of you time in making Codegen a success. I thank you for your efforts and wish you peace, happiness and prosperity in the New Year! May this year be a rewarding year for you all!
The main highlight of the year has been the moving of Codegen family into a new spacious home in the heart of Colombo. This has been a much anticipated move for Codegen for quite sometime and finally the dream came true in the month of August in 2008. The new premises is equipped with all the state of the art facilities, including a well equipped boardroom, conference rooms, spacious cafeteria, development rooms, server rooms and not forgetting a spacious car park as well. The improvement of the infrastructure, gave Codegen the opportunity to expand its operations in order to cater for its both existing and future demands which are in the pipeline.
The move was felicitated with a multi-religious blessings ceremony, an official opening ceremony followed with a musical extravaganza held on the night of the opening. The official ceremony was held under patronage of government ministerial posts, government high-ranking officers and scholars from various distinguished universities, while the event was covered with many media personnel present from both print and electronic media publications. With these new facilities, the employees get to enjoy their work more with the spacious development areas, cafeteria and recreational areas.
